The Department of Basic Science organised *“Varnangal ’26”, a vibrant talent show exclusively for the **first-year students, on **1st October 2026* at the College Auditorium.

The programme provided a wonderful platform for the first-year students to showcase their *talents, creativity, confidence and artistic abilities*. The students enthusiastically participated in various cultural and entertaining performances, creating an energetic and joyful atmosphere throughout the event.

The programme aimed to encourage students to explore and develop their talents beyond academics, while also promoting *self-confidence, teamwork, creativity and healthy interaction among students*.

The performances of the students were well received and appreciated by the audience. The event also helped the first-year students to feel more connected with the college community and provided them with an opportunity to express themselves freely.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a guest lecture on “Soft Robotics in Biomedical Applications” on 22.09.2026 for 45 students studying Medical Instrumentation. The session was delivered by Ms. P. Abi Priya. The lecture introduced students to the role of soft robotics in healthcare, rehabilitation, prosthetics, and medical devices, providing knowledge beyond the regular syllabus.

The *Department of Basic Science, Shree Venkateshwara Hi-Tech Polytechnic College, Othakuthirai, Gobi, organized a **Students’ Motivational Programme* titled *“Dream Big, Achieve Big”* on *18 September 2026* at *9:30 a.m.* in the *College Auditorium*.

The programme was organized for the *First Year and Lateral Entry students* with the objective of motivating them to develop a positive attitude, set meaningful goals, build self-confidence and cultivate discipline for academic and personal success.

The resource person for the programme was *Maanava Rathna Dr. K. Karthik Velu, Psychological Life Skill Development Trainer and Chief Executive Officer of **One Life – One Chance Life Skill Academy. Through an engaging and inspiring session, Dr. K. Karthik Velu emphasized the importance of **dreaming big, setting clear goals, maintaining discipline, developing a positive mindset and taking consistent steps towards success*.

On 12.09.2026, the teaching and non-teaching staff of Shree Venkateshwara Hi-Tech Polytechnic College (SVHPC) organized a memorable Staff Trip to Munnar.
The trip provided an opportunity for the staff members to take a break from their routine academic responsibilities and spend quality time together in a refreshing and pleasant environment. The visit offered beautiful experiences amidst the scenic landscapes, lush greenery, misty mountains, and tea plantations of Munnar.
The trip strengthened team bonding, friendship, and mutual understanding among the staff members. It was a joyful and rejuvenating experience filled with memorable moments, making the Munnar Staff Trip 2026 a truly special and unforgettable journey for the SVHPC family.

The Second and Third Year Diploma students of Various Branches visited Masco Tea Factory, Vagamon on 28 August 2026, gaining valuable practical exposure to tea processing and industrial operations.
The students observed the various stages of tea manufacturing and processing, gaining a better understanding of real-world industrial practices.
The visit also helped students develop practical knowledge, industrial awareness, and an understanding of workplace safety and technology.

The competition was successfully conducted on 25 August 2026, with 57 teams participating enthusiastically. 22 teams were shortlisted for evaluation by two distinguished jury panels. The event provided students with an excellent platform to showcase their innovation, creativity, teamwork, and technical skills.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and the Department of Computer Engineering jointly organized a Guest Lecture on ” Smart Lighting Using IoT ” for the diploma students to enhance their knowledge of emerging technologies and their real-world applications.
The resource person for the session was Mr. R. Vigneshwaran, Senior Technical Engineer, VI Micro Systems. He shared his industry experience and explained how the Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming conventional lighting systems into intelligent and energy-efficient smart lighting solutions.

A “10-Crore Drug-Free Pledge” event was successfully conducted at Shree Venkateswara Hi-Tech Polytechnic College, organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya as part of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” (Drug-Free India Campaign) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
In this event, organized to raise awareness among students about the harmful effects of tobacco products, students and teachers participated and pledged to completely avoid tobacco and lead a healthy, disciplined life.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a one-day industrial visit for the Second Year and Third Year Diploma EEE students on 06.08.2026 to KIN Railway Equipment Private Limited.

The objective of the industrial visit was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practices by exposing students to modern manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and industrial safety procedures followed in the railway equipment manufacturing sector.
